M.E.W.A.F — studio Joris Kerremans

The Modular Extensive World Archive Foundation (M.E.W.A.F.) is a global network of generic storage facilities scattered across the entire planet. By their very nature, these standardized repositories constitute both container and contained. The paradox with elemental archiving is that the structures themselves resist classification; either the archive building embodies pure functionality, or mundane storage has elevated to become a monument to preservation.
MetaalWarenFabriek (M.E.W.A.F.) allows users to get a small-scale (1:50) view of buildings for archival purposes in their own domestic surroundings.
