PaashoekLocated on the border of the village, the plot is overlooking the valley of the Nete river. The rural landscape is characterized by its wide views over wet fields and small streams, only interupted by small clusters of trees.
The vast vistas invites to think of a low and light house, which respects the existing panoramic landscape. The house is therefore organised as a single-storey volume, despite town planning rules. The compact plan is divided into a day and night partition with the central entrance hall as the core of the house. Small nuances in floor and ceiling heights enrich this division by making it spatially tangible in the interior. The roof combines different slopes and directions and thus informs about the underlying plan. The generous gesture of the pitched roof covering the double height dining room appears as an accent in the landscape.
